Post Event - Women of Achievement Lunch 2003
This year’s Women of Achievement Lunch will be remembered as one of the most enjoyable and successful events in the history of the Black & White Committee.
Sponsored by BMW Sydney the event was held on Tuesday 17th June 2003 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney and attended by over 678 guests.
Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC opened the Lunch with an inspirational speech that set the scene for the Guest Speakers; Dr. Kerryn Phelps, Lord Mayor Councillor Lucy Turnbull and Toni Lamond.
Each of the Guest Speakers gave thought provoking and inspirational talks demonstrating their success to date and their contribution to our Nation with Toni Lamond finishing on an up beat note bringing the speeches to a close with a roar of laughter from the audience.
Each of the Guests was presented with 24 Long Stem Tulips kindly donated by Roses Only along with a bottle of Bollinger generously donated by Tucker Seabrook.
The two-course lunch of Seared Tasmanian Salmon followed by Orange Shortcake with Blueberry Compote was superbly presented and the banquet setting extravagant with candelabra and flower settings on each table, the ambience was overwhelming.
This years prestigious prizes for the raffle were kindly donated by; Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., Four Seasons Hotel Sydney, Susan Peacock Jewellery, Mustav Jewellery, Jonathan Lang Design, Absolute Beauty Retreat, Tre Scalini Ristorante, BMW Sydney, Twining’s Tea, Harper’s Bazaar Honeysuckle Garden and The Manning Hotel Bowral.
The raffle money raised a record amount of $11,700, which took our total to approximately $50,000 which will go to The Children’s Services Development Fund of the Royal Blind Society.
The Women of Achievement Lunch 2004 will be on Tuesday 22 June and is sure to be another sell out. Pencil the date in your diary now and register on line for you tickets well in advance to ensure you do not miss out on what promises to be another outstanding and enjoyable event.
