What we do:

Early Childhood Invention Services:

Each child has different needs and families also have different needs, resources and priorities. We work with families to develop an individual plan to help their child reach his or her potential and assist with the needs of the whole family.

Services are offered in the child's home, early childhoood centre, or at our Sydney office.

We can provide:

• information about vision impairment, child development, services and resourcs;
• vision and development assessments to better understand the child's strengths and needs;
• individual developmental programs;
• playgroups in our sensory playroom at Enfield;
• advice about toys, books and equipment;
• family support services and activities such as counselling, family days and camps;
• assistance with children's inclusion into local playgroups, childcare centres and preschools;
• consultation to other early childhood intervention services;
• support with the process of transition to school.

School aged services:

During a child's school years families continue to play an important role, however as students mature they increasingly determine their own needs and the services they require.

We can assist with:

• information about vision impairment, resources and services;
• vision assessments;
• information and support with transition to and inclusion in primary and high school;
• lifeskills programs such as acctivities of daily liviing, leisure, social skills and sexuality workshops;
• counselling;
• peer and family support activities such as picnic days, camps, parent  and sibling groups;
• vocational services;
• libraray and transcription services;

• social workers; and
• early special education teachers.
